Excellent sporting facilities, fine restaurants & bars, theme parks, water parks, steam train rides, zip wires, historic sites, fortified towns, memorials & cemeteries, arts & crafts, festivals, markets, 110km of sandy beaches and even a chocolate factory in Beussent! An information pack is provided in your apartment and we’re always on hand to recommend the best restaurants, golf courses, places to visit…

Kite flying: visit the kite workshop in Hardelot. If you just want to go fly a kite, choose one of many beaches along the Cote d’Opale coastline (over 100km of sandy beaches)!

A sight not to be missed is the International Kite Festival in Berck (mid-April) which also has excellent stalls and entertainments – definitely worth the trip.

Sand yachting: the sand yachting schools all along the coast cater for individuals, groups and families.

Windsurfing: the many windsurfing schools run courses for everyone – beginners and advanced windsurfers alike. Board rental is also possible.

Canoes & kayaks: the nearest canoe & kayak centre is a 12-minute drive away in Montreuil.

Fishing: Half-day or full-day permits are available – or if you pick up a fishing permit from a designated shop, you can fish in the local rivers as well.

Peaceful countryside and quaint seaside villages

Ramble, hike or just stroll through the breathtaking open space and enjoy unspoilt forests, serene meadows and imposing, stunning white cliffs. You will also find a wealth of culture and heritage – from stately fortified towns and magnificent châteaux, to the history and emotion of battlefields and war graves. With so many interesting places to visit, we guarantee your holiday won’t be long enough!

Restaurants: there are many fine restaurants in the area. The Bonne Table de Beussent is a five-minute stroll and the Auberge d’Inxent is a one-minute drive. There are other restaurants within a five-minute drive, plus many more in Montreuil (10 minutes) and Le Touquet (20 minutes).

Local Festivals: look out for music & beach events, street entertainment, hot air ballooning, sand sculpting, flea markets (brocantes), as well as the usual mussel, scallop, wine and village festivals/markets. Samer has a Strawberry Festival in June and Berck-sur-Mer’s International Kite festival is watched by over 400,000 people mid April every year. All the local villages also compete each year for prestigious regional flower awards.
